You may be forgiven for thinking this may be a spin off of that Channel 4’s American series that focuses of four, overly pretty, thirty- somethings as they battle with careers, love, babies and shoes.
Nevertheless, this show is nothing of the sort. In fact an improvisation performance where people text in their suggestions as well as shouting them out - a ‘Whose Line is it Anyway’ for the 21st Century.
My first thought was, “How is that going to work in the depths of Teviot’s club room?” To my surprise it worked amazingly well as a reception booster had been brought in to charge lagging signals, so this gimmick was pulled off with great success.
My second thought was “How good is this going to be?” because improvisation is an incredibly difficult thing to do successfully and it often depends on a good audience. On the whole, the performance went down well but, as with all improvised comedy, some bits were better than others. All in all, the show was kept together well and provided a few laughs yet it lacked any true originality.
