Craig Hill - One Man and His Kilt

2004

Is there anything left to say about Craig Hill? He’s been around long enough to garner every superlative possible from Fringe critics, so is there anything else we can add other than that he is quite simply a phenomenon?

Having see Craig Hill perform several times before I had some sense of what his show might be like before I even got there. One thing I had forgotten though was just how fluid his shows are. He is at ease with his audience, so much so the show comes across less like a recital of scripted material and more like a conversation with a rather witty, highly charged friend.

But be warned! Craig Hill has no shame or regard for your modesty. Faster than you can say “melodrama” you can find yourself, your town or your country under his scrutiny and being ripped irreverently to shreds! The shy need not cower away from this show however… though they might want to avoid sitting in the front row. This year’s show has all of the dance breaks, diva parodies and social commentary that Craig’s fans have come to love and expect.

Craig’s material is hilarious and delivered to spectacular effect. This man is one of the finest examples of first class, five star comedy on the Fringe - he is quite simply a natural born entertainer.

5/5
