The Wau Wau Sisters

2004

The experience of watching the Wau Wau Sisters is definitely an interesting one and one possibly to repeated under the right circumstances but not at this festival.

From the start the girls wow the audience with an ever so Sapphic, sacrilegious acrobatic/strip number and it’s these moments of gymnastic splendour that make the show. Unfortunately the material between these bouts of extreme splendour is what leaves the show lacking.

It is clear that the Wau Wau’s have great potential but it isn’t been fulfilled here and that’s a great shame. They are a talented, amiable pair and it’s obvious that they could go somewhere, just without this show.

That said, this show could work really well if it was on in a slightly later slot and the audience were tiddly on too much of Charlie’s Special Reserve, as it would appeal much more to an excitable audience.

It is incredibly hard to turn down two beautiful women who keep stripping to their underwear but in this case it’s probably best to. Next year, however, might be a different situation altogether…
