There are a fair few double acts at the Fringe vying for your attention, but I would urge you to consider this pair, who have talent and chemistry in abundance.
They hold an audience with their well-turned faces and complete lack of physical dexterity. A mixture of sketches and audience address, this show makes for an entertaining hour of comedic charm that flies by.
Mr Hopkins (the tall one) shows us his predilection for smooth, well placed, sexual lewdness and all too familiar off the wall characters. By comparison Mr Glover, (the less tall one) provides a great foil with his slightly unnerved and lost presence (the one exception being when he is playing the deity).
Both bring an incredibly impish warmth to the stage as they race through costume, time and place changes. We are flung from inspired police interrogation, to surreal holiday snaps via a French folk lothario and finally land on a wonderfully suicidal next door neighbour.
The live action is backed up by much video linkage which isn’t always up to snuff, but the performer’s exuberance makes this a mere quibble. So if you wish to be entertained by two splendid fellows go and take a gander at Hopkins and Glover. I defy anyone to not leave feeling refreshed, charmed and slightly tired from laughing.
