It is such a shame when you see talented young actors brought down by shoddy scripting and it is sad to say that the guys of Eleventhirtyone have been taken down by the writer of Cabbages.
Billed as fast, funny and furious, Cabbages is simply a surreal sketch show that rarely hits the mark. There are a few genuine laughs to be had but these are few and far between and are generally overshadowed by confused giggling, as skit after skit ends with no punch line.
The main problem is that Cabbages tries to be off the wall but doesn’t create an environment in which to base itself. There is no sense of reason, no continuity and just an overall lack of humour.
By all means don’t write off Eleventhirtyone, as they have three talented performers, just don’t go and see Cabbages.
