The wipe clean seats of Cave 3 is an ominous sign at the start of a show about sexual fantasies but it soon transpires that these are simply a defence against seepage due to the inclement weather, rather than a soil-free covering.
With a worrying complement of shocking syntax, non-sensical suggestions and depraved demands Dirty Fan Male plows through a ream of real letters sent to soft-core porn models. Obviously if it was just a guy standing up reading these perverted demands out loud the show would get dull rather quickly (as the main protagonist shows: “This letter is a great example of…” repeat ad nauseum) but, fortunately, we have the vocal and musical talents of Wizbee to breath life and character into the these naughty notes.
From dirty old granddads to sad, pathetic loners the talented Wizbee manages to bring enough hilarity and whimsy to proceedings to prevent it getting stale. Admittedly it still does get a little repetitive after the first ten letters but the letters are so unbelievably depraved and stupid that it never gets really boring.
Basically, Dirty Fan Male is a great concept but lacks something in the actual delivery.
