There’s little doubt that Pam Ann is flying high above the Pleasance Courtyard this month, serving up the delicious blend of kitsch glamour and in-your-face debauchery she is famed for.
Set on a chic retro-style stage, Flying High is a well-observed parody of life on the other side of the first class curtain, that hits the spot regardless of which side you find yourself on.
Frequent Pam Ann flyers will be pleased to know that this brazen Aussie goddess of the airways has not lost her impeccable comic timing or over-familiar approach to audience participation. In many ways, her stage presence is something of a force of nature, captivating her audience and allowing her to get away with some incredible feats of bravado.
Even without her usual multiple outfit changes, Pam Ann remains an iconic tribute to the forgotten glamour of the air stewardess, while simultaneously delivering some of the filthiest one-liners you are likely to hear on the Fringe.
While this year’s show might be somewhat low on new material, it is still one hell of a ride and is guaranteed to get at least a few gasps of bemused horror out of even the most hardened Fringe-goer. In-flight entertainment at its best!
