Caesar Twins and Friends

2005

Beneath the opulent chandeliers of the Assembly Rooms ballroom, feats of sheer strength and balance meet awe-inspiring grace and poise, which challenge the perception of the limits of the human body.

With their impish humour and chiseled physiques, Pablo and Pierre act as dual ringleaders, whipping their audience into a frenzy of excitement with multiple back flips and stunning martial arts displays. Then, just as the excitement peaks, the Twins change the tempo with mesmerising displays of sensuous rope dance and graceful acrobatics, which reduce the audience to a stunned and slack-jawed silence.

These platinum-haired Adonises do not flip their way through the entire hour however, as they enlist the help of two very talented friends to provide musical and, on occasion, acrobatic interludes. Sometimes these interludes do come across like bad Eurovision songs but when they do get it right the result is both powerful and beautiful.

Though there is no flaw to be found in the skill or form of these twins, they are occasionally let down by some of the tackier elements of the performance, such as the homage to combat video games that goes on for far too long.

Any shortcomings are, however, compensated for with their tremendous finale. In a highly charged performance showcasing acrobatics above and below water, the Twins give the audience undeniable proof of their strength, agility and showmanship.

The Caesar Twins deliver world-class acrobatics with such sensuality you will inevitably find yourself revisiting the performance in your dreams.
