The Fringe always offers the opportunity to try something new, whether it is the chance to witness world records being broken, to ride with a slightly unbalanced, yet hilarious cabbie or see a Hollywood star tread the boards. However, it is rare that you get to be part of something bigger than the festival, well until you meet Danny James that is.
Instead of doing a simple stand-up show, James has decided to take up the Parkinson role and try his hand at hosting a chat show in the unlikely surroundings of the Holyrood Tavern. Far from being a gimmick, James is actually recording every show for broadcast on RedFinger.fm, so a visit to his show means you will be part of a worldwide show.
In truth, Radio Blah Blah can be a bit hit or miss, as it is totally unscripted but if he has a good guest it can be absolute gold. During our visit he had Boothby Graffoe in and he’s always a pleasure.
Radio Blah Blah truly is something unique on this year’s bill and it’s an opportunity to see some of comedy’s biggest names for a fraction of the price. James can’t promise you a solid run of fantastic shows but there’s a good chance you’ll catch something good.
