Craig Hill returns to the Assembly Rooms with a new show, after sell outs in both, 2004 and 2005. All the material is fresh, although the format is much the same – he dances on in a kilt, has a bit of banter with a few members of the audience, then continues with some outrageous comedy. It works well, and he has the audience in stitches right from the start. In fact, it’s almost worth going just to see his dance routine at the beginning.
Hill is fabulously camp, and sometimes wickedly bitchy. There are many moments where you find yourself thinking “I can’t believe he just said that!”, but still, you are unable to keep laughter in check. Craig Hill’s gift lies in observing his everyday life, and sharing it with an audience in a believable yet outrageously funny manner.
Whether you have yet to experience Craig Hill, or have enjoyed the show in previous years, Kilty Pleasures is worth checking out.
