Once again, the magical surrealism returns to the Spiegeltent every night in the form of La Clique, an hour and a half full of loveable freaks, gorgeous women and amazing entertainment.
Last year’s show was unbeatable, and you realise this more than anything when you see La Clique this year around. Although still incredible amusing and beautifully created, the show suffers from performances that are not as inventive as before, and you end up missing Ursula Martinez’s wit, or Camille’s songs that made last year’s show a five-star experience.
There is still plenty to rejoice here though, as the perfectly sculpted man performs a set of acrobatics on top of some car tires, a sensual trapeze artiste dances in the air to a heartbreaking Spanish song or an astonishing Scandinavian contorts his body and disjoint parts of it in an attempt to squeeze through a 10 inch and 8 inch tennis racket.
In all, this year’s spectacle is worth a visit, even though its minor problems. As ever with La Clique, you have to see it to believe it. And then, you just have to see it again.
