Dana Gillespie blows you away. You have to admit that not a lot of people know much about her before they go to An audience with Dana Gillespie; you might have heard one of her tracks at Vegas nightclub, or similar, and decided to go along. You will be glad you do – she is amazing!
Dana Gillespie is an outstanding British blues singer. She is accompanied by Austrian pianist Joachim Palden. Together they take the audience through classic 40s blues and a few boogie-woogie numbers. The venue is small and intimate, enabling Gillespie to interact with the audience, entertaining them with anecdotes and introducing each song. The songs themselves are deliciously risqué, and perfectly carried off by the duo.
Everyone is recommended this night even if they are not a diehard blues fan. Granted, you may get more from the evening if you are familiar with the genre, but everyone loves the saucy songs, and Dana Gillespie’s powerful voice and engaging dialogue are definitely worth watching, as is Joachim Palden’s amazing piano playing.
