God’s Pottery Saves The World!

2007

Toothy smiles, terrible bowl cuts, Jesus-sandals and all-American wholesomeness: God’s pottery is a terrifyingly happy acoustic Christian duo who want their show to do no less than save the world!

Jeremiah Smallchild and Gideon Lamb have upped the stakes since their debut last year, when they solved the problem of fundamentalism, and this time they tackle all the ills of the world by reducing them to just 8 problems needing solved, including the environment and adoption: ‘You’re just as special as a normal child’.

This is a satirical look at America’s Bible belt and sweet Jesus songs, while a PowerPoint presentation shows the audience how guys like Jeremiah and Gideon view the rest of the world. It sound more serious than it really is! In reality, it’s a great hour’s entertainment and very funny. Between the ‘Virginity Saves!’ t-shirts and the toe-curling singing, their solution for saving the world is hard to fault. The details are brilliant, in particular the way they mutter ‘And…’ instead of counting in the start of a song, and the developing dynamic between Jeremiah and Gideon makes for great entertainment as well.

Go on, do your bit to save the world- go see it!
