It is somewhat difficult to review any show which is made from different acts, since as always, some are good, some are excellent, and some are simply atrocious. Rather than focus in detail on each individual act its best to divide the show into two. The invited acts who do not appear every night, and those who are the resident performers. The special guests in this night’s performance were disappointing. In fact, out of the four of them, only one was watch able, while the other three where quite inexplicably boring.
The recurring performers however, are excellent. Des O’Connor does a sensational job as the night’s host. He is such a charismatic character that the audience is drawn into each word he says. His songs are amazingly cheeky and are met by an enthusiastic public that just wants more. And more they get when both acts, Wild Card Kitty and Anna Pocket Rocket appear on stage.
Wild Card Kitty, cabaret extraordinaire, teases and plays with the audience, heating up the aisles in a mater of seconds. Champagne bottle, feathers, and best of all, a perfect balance of cheekiness and dirty play are mixed in a perfect five minute routine.
Anna Pocket Rocket doesn’t let down either, with a jaw dropping hula hoop act. Miss Pocket Rocket moves muscles of her body that surely are not made to move, while her expertise with the hoops amazes at every new trick she does.
The whole show might be a bit too long, and the guests might not always be the best out there, but all this is forgotten as soon as either Des, Kitty or Pocket Rocket hit the stage. It is them who should never leave the spotlight, since the spotlight truly loves them.
