This comedy sketch is just utter brilliance! Each one of the lads has something different to offer yet they still manage to work amazingly well together, every sketch acted and performed perfectly.
As the show starts, the boys show on the projector a little movie of what they did last year and also give us a taster of what we can expect this year. The video finishes with them running around in their underwear all over Edinburgh and heading to the venue itself in the Pleasance Courtyard. As we see them heading into the building, the video turns off and they appear on stage, fully dressed, as if the video had been live. This show has a lot of variety to it, which makes it very easy and exciting to watch, as you never know what is going to happen next.
The guys’ crudeness at the start of the show is rather witty but a bit too bloke-ish and sexist/homophobic, but this attitude disappears throughout the show. As the boys’ start to get in the swing of things the show gets really entertaining and funny. Their change of characters in the show is very quick and very well performed by each of them. Moving from one sketch to the other, laugh after laugh, the pace is quick, trying to get everything fitted into a one hour show.
This show could easily be longer, and still grab the public’s attention at all times. Every second of the show is a laugh out loud moment. Idiots of Ants really deserve an award for putting on such a great entertaining performance throughout the entire show. The show is truly hilarious!
