This fun musical set in London in the 1960’s covers the life and loves of a group of teenagers in a club on a Saturday Night. It deals with a variety of issues of the younger generation from drugs to teen pregnancy, virginity to premature ejaculation.
The Viva Youth Company present a clear representation of the work and the audience appear to enjoy the show however many of the comic lines are lost and at points the show feels slow and laboured. This show doesn’t get nearly the amount of belly laughs that are expected and a lot of the dialogue is lost in the space. However, some of the vocal talents of the cast do make up for the areas that this show falls down on. It is particularly joyous to hear the numbers where all female cast members are singing together. The dance choreography and ability of the cast is limited but this is to be expected considering the limit space on the stage.
Overall, this is a good show that is worth a look if you are stuck for what to see, but not one that you should rush out and buy tickets for immediately.
