Sa-Choom

2008

Sa-Choom is a high energy dance-musical that provides an excellent mix of Hip Hop, Break dancing and comedy. Although the term musical is used loosely and much of the music and vocals are pre-recorded (something quite unusual in the Fringe), this show provides a fun outing for everyone. The audience participation is desperate and the story line is pointless and unnecessary however this is one of the few acts where it doesn’t matter as the show and cast provide the most fun that you could have at this year’s Fringe. The relaxed atmosphere of the company, allowing people to leave on mobile phones, take photographs and even videos, leaves the audience feeling immediately at easy and once the heavy beats and fast dance routines kick in it is easy to see why everyone leaves the theatre with a smile on their face.
Seeing Sa-Choom is like an adrenaline fuelled virtual reality pop video that is unashamedly cheesy and is more fun than Disneyland at Xmas. Well done to the cast, surely by the audiences overwhelming positive reaction that they will never have a problem putting bums on seats at future festivals.
