Rise

2008

Rise is a fantastic dance piece performed by 6 amazingly skilled dancers. Each dancer with a different flow of movement, work perfectly well on the stage and with each other. This piece should be put down in the Fringe as one of the best and most creative pieces that has ever been shown.
The choreography is brilliantly created by Tom Dale, who owns his own company, Tom Dale Company. He has some of the best dancers around, and creates a beautifully dynamic piece. He blends different music, such as hip hop, reggae, soul and dub, and with it he creates a dance piece where the main themes verse on the shaping of human behaviour, both for individuals and society as a whole. Tom has such a great way of putting music and movement together, which is what makes this performance stand out from all the others.
His dancers have such a skill and passion when performing, it is beautiful to watch. It gives you goose bumps seeing how amazing these dancers work together and how they move through the stage so perfectly with their flawless technique. Rise, on the whole, is truly stunning.
