The mime double act are back, and by the looks of it, the audience are more than happy. When they come out on stage everyone cheers manically, and Gamarjobat love it.
Their first twenty minutes are like an adrenaline shot, with the duo trying to out star each other in both their silliness and tricks. The audience roar, they laugh, they clap, the love them. Gamarjobat have great chemistry between each other, and the public, with whom they interact constantly.
It is after this initial first twenty minutes that their Western show starts and, although still highly enjoyable and amusing, they loose some of their spark. They are still capable of drawing in the laughs, but these are more scarce and they don’t so much have laugh out loud moments as giggles and titters.
The Western act has them interpreting different characters to great effect, and they are able to construct multiple personalities out of fast costume changes, funny props and some good acting skills. Though the story is a bit simple, it is easy to follow, even when not one word is spoken. Gamarjobat are pros at mime acting, and they convey meaning very easily.
By the end of the show, the audience has laughed with them and enjoyed themselves, but some hope that next year, Gamarjobat will bring more of the first twenty minutes show, and less of the Western side…
