The Bodego Brothers aka Rob Castell and Tom Sadler garnered lot of praise last year for hit show ‘Barbershopra!’. They now return to the Fringe to bring a fun filled, sweetly enjoyable and very funny new show, ‘Afternoon Delight’, where they play a multitude of musical instruments and sing brilliant and unique songs, about how to make the Green Party sexy, and how the real reason dinosaurs became extinct is because they all became gay!
These bright, silly little songs are a joy to be a part of and are made all the more fun by the Bodego Brothers who come across as genuinely loveable performers who adore every second of what they do.
In between the songs there are some playful games and chats with the audience, such as giving a biscuit to the first person who shouts out ‘delight’ when the Bodego Brothers mention the word ‘afternoon’. These simple little moments has the audience members grinning from ear to ear. While their public banter won’t be giving the likes of Jason Byrnes and Adam Hill’s any sleepless nights, they still maintain an endearing quality throughout.
A great hour that ends on an odd little song about the best way to save the world is to kill yourself, they have the audience singing at the top of their voices and clapping along. This is a great little show that is indeed a delight to watch.
