Sometimes try all you might but some fantastic shows just can’t get the audience numbers they deserve and sometimes audiences seem to have a sixth sense and keep as wide a berth as possible. Being the only member in the audience today perhaps my sixth sense was a little pre-occupied on other things. While not a complete disaster, once the actors got over their embarrassment and I got over the slow realisation that I would have to loudly laugh at their jokes they bring a fun filled, wacky comedy about a missing sock in time, a deadly bomb, a crocodile, evil scouts, Simon Cowel and Madonna.
No one could criticise them for a lack of ambition and their hour long performance has some great jokes that hit their target, mixed in with some enthusiastic musical numbers about chewing on bum beards. The zaniness while great in places by the end becomes almost too much to bear, not helped by the jokes and plot in the final quarter running on empty.
This is a show with lots of potential but In need of a severe re-edit, with several scenes involving crocodiles trying to sleep with monkeys never spoken of again.
