An eerie feeling of mystery awaits you as you sit down and get comfortable in your seat, and your curiosity will not be relieved soon either. Not often enough can you experience such a diverse range of emotions during a performance. It is almost as though you have entered into the minds of each of the seven characters and you are exposed first hand to their fears and desires, all presented through truly moving pieces of dance.
‘100 Wounded Tears’ tells the story of seven characters selling their souls to the devil in search of their dreams. What they get of course is their worst nightmares.
What the performance lacks in narrative and minimum dialogue it makes up for in stark imagery and stunning choreography as they attempt to push the boundaries of dance theatre. The end result is a truly breathtaking collection of short stories plunging deep into the darkest corners of our subconscious.
Produced by a Czech company, Dot 504 and choreographed by Jozef Frucek and Linda Kapetanea, featuring the same brilliant young dancers as last year’s performance Holdin’ Fast which was a huge triumph.
Graceful movement blended with cruel punishment that is sexy as it is disturbing that will leave you eager for more.
