Jacklyn Bassanelli enters the stage barefoot and gets on top of a table where she strikes a few poses under the on-and-off direct focus light. She slowly starts to recreate the situation a woman goes through in a bar when she meets a new guy. She has dreams. She has sex with the guy on the floor. There are videos in the background she dances to. She might or might not be the waitress. It could all come down to mother issues. Her voice delivers the story in an engaging way. Pity the audience of 5 cannot really say what it is engaged with.
She moves gracefully and with the dress she later puts on she could be a cinderella. Unfortunately, by then, the prince, the court and even the acomodator have already left.
The best scene is when she kicks off her high heel shoes up in the air. The shoes are heard to bounce against the ceiling. If you have been following the shoes trajectory unhooked by the story as one is, you see one of the shoes has actually got (accidentally) stuck on the ceiling lights. That’s when you poke your sleeping neighbor awake. Later, Jacklyn looks for the shoes and gets a few additional smirks from the audience when she can’t find one. Would be interesting to know if after today she will go on to break a light or on the other hand will she mellow down the kick.
She doesn’t act badly, she should just really drop this show and join a different company.
