This event consists of choreographers who wish to showcase their new pieces and to experiment with new styles of dance, being a fantastic way of them gauging audience reaction.
Although beneficial to the choreographer, it is hard to assess the benefits to the audience who are faced with a largely diverse range of styles and abstract forms of choreography, which is at times performed by the choreographers themselves.
The choreographies are interesting but not outstanding. As the performers on the whole are the choreographers, their technique and dance ability is not always that of performance level. None of the dancers in this showcase are at a professional level of dance, but at the same time, there are a couple of performances that stand out more than the rest and are somewhat enjoyable to watch. Due to the nature of the show if you are not interested in contemporary dance then this showcase should not be high on your list to view.
