Let’s say it out loud and clear: Frisky and Mannish are masters at their game. In the space of an hour, they have the audience laughing almost every second, never giving them a minute to breathe or recompose themselves. Puns, jokes and nods to the audience come thick and fast and the mood is always high.
Coming back to the Fringe after a successful 2009 run, they present the second part of their ‘School of Pop’ show, which earned them ten 5-stars reviews.
Their insights into the world of pop and the lyrics of their accompanying songs are riotously funny, and are all delivered with pitch-perfect comic timing. Their hilariously venomous lampooning of Mariah Carey and Florence and the Machine raise the loudest laughs.
Frisky and Mannish’s intention to re-educate us on the truths behind the pop industry successfully hits the funny bone at all times, while their engaging, adopted diva-like personas delight an audience ready to have fun with them.
It is refreshing to see that, in a show where nobody is safe from their amusingly-acidic words (not even reviewers, who get a song dedicated to them), Frisky and Mannish truly respect and adore their public and clearly just want to enjoy the show with them.
An excellent show, and with quality like this we hope there will be plenty of sequels to come.
