Wow! From the moment the first note starts and the show begins, you find yourself absolutely speechless, as the incredibly talented students from the Cape Academy of Performing Arts begin their show with the graceful “Flock”. Then, for the next hour, you remain enthralled by the excellent choreography, beautiful music, unbelievable talent and stunning costumes of the performers.
This production cannot be over commended. The performers are incredible – and young. With the youngest being 15 years, and the oldest 22 years old, it is almost impossible to believe they can be this young and yet this professional! The beauty and fluidity of the dancing, and the flawless interpretation of the music cannot be put into words. The audience is left with no doubt that not only are these students staggeringly talented, but dedicated performers who give their all to the productions, while looking like they are thoroughly enjoying themselves throughout.
The emotion of the dancers in “Fragile Falling” is tangible, although this is obvious throughout all 10 pieces. Then, just when you think it can’t get any better, it does. “US Travellers” shows the dancers in a completely different light, with odd, jangly music and jerky type movement, which once more, is brilliant, and a definite highlight. But don’t think that this is the end of the experience. Not only can this amazing crew dance, but before the end of the production you find that they are just as talented at acting and singing! Look out for the exceptionally talented Henk, Martin, Alice and Mila who, along with their fellow performers, dance to an international standard and better.
This show is breathtaking and should not be missed.
