Edinburgh can be chaos in August, what with the thousands of acts, the frantic flyering, the busy bustling crowds, the floating tourists… it can all get a bit much for the average Festival goer.
But, situated in the heart of all the fun-filled carnage at Assembly George Square is the perfect antidote to all the hustle and bustle. Alan Parkinson and Architects of the Air have created a massive, inflatable installation that invites you to wander through its maze like tunnels, and the experience is just delightful.
Cleverly designed to use the natural outside light to illuminate its tunnels in beautiful primary colours, it has created a stunning world of neon-like shapes and colours as
you are encouraged to wander, sit and contemplate the world in this bubble of calm.
Perfect for all ages, children especially seemed to be completely in awe of this unique and thoroughly enjoyable experience. But aided along by the ambient music there are just as many adults having a little ten minutes to themselves as they sit and drink in the deep, rich colours.
