Mash-up? Get it while its hot! Drawing on TV themes, advertising, pop music of the last four decades and at least one show tune, you will be carried along with them on a journey through the hinterlands and broad plains of music.
Astounding. This play is tagged as a piece of physical theatre, but this does not do justice to the multi-media and multi-talented cast that take us on a journey through the lives of several different men.
If it ain’t Baroque then don’t fix it. The setting is Venice, where a seemingly unending cycle of masked balls provide the backdrop. The set and costumes are minimalist, the largest and more dominating item on stage being the harpsichord.
Circus is sexy. It is also spectacular and a little bit surprising. Once inside the vaguely tardis-esque tent you are taken into a self contained world which while resembling the normal one is peopled with beings who fly and perform feats that will amaze.
The Strawberry Vanilla supremacy. Abie Philbin Bowman is a comedian who adopts a catholic (note the small c) approach to comedy. His repertoire weaves puns, which elicit knowing but good natured groans from his audience, into the more standard wider life experience and observations.
Scottish culture and not a deep fried mars bar in sight. The entertainments on offer at Dancing Forth, while definitely Scottish, are a million miles away from the stereotype of fried food and football, this is Scotland at its most refined.
The masters of comedy mash-ups, this energetic duo, introduce themselves as Ray Gun and Luke Real (their company named Rayguns Look Real Enough) and provide an amusing and engaging pairing.
A manic melange of mayhem. The Penny Dreadfuls are riding high on a wave of popularity, and they play on this rock star image in their opening and at a few points within the show.
Most of us have been there, have lived this story, or at least seen it from up close.’ Fresher. The Musical’ is a high energy tale of 5 young people thrown together at the whim of the university accommodation people and the ensuing chaos is peppered heavily with laughs, arguments and a few tears
